Using an acne face mask at least a couple of times a week can help you clear up your acne and have better skin. Many of the acne face masks can be made at home and are even better than over the counter acne face masks.
Oatmeal Acne Face Mask
Oatmeal helps to cleanse the skin without drying it out. It also removes dead skin cells which in turn unclogs the skins pores. You can also mix the oatmeal with a natural antiseptic such as honey. Combine a ¼ cup of honey to a single serve pouch of oatmeal. Apply the paste to your skin and leave it there for 10 minutes. Once you have done this rinse you face with warm water to clean it and dry with a clean towel.
Baking Soda Acne Face Mask
One of the most often used ingredients in acne face masks is baking soda. The reason for this is that baking soda is a natural exfoliant that removes dead skin cells while also removing any oil from the skin area. This of course means that your skin pores will be unclogged. Mix the baking soda with water to make a paste and apply it to your skin for 15 minutes before rinsing it off.
Applesauce Acne Face Mask
Applesauce is great for the skin because of the nutrients contained within the apple. These nutrients will nourish and soften your skin after you have applied the face mask. To make this type of face mask recipe even better add some brown sugar or wheat germ to help gently exfoliate your skin while the mask is applied. Use equal parts of wheat germ or brown sugar to the natural unsweetened applesauce. Leave the mask on for about 15 to 20 minutes. Clean the area using warm water in a circular motion to rinse off the mask.
These are just a few acne face masks that you can make at home. You do need to be careful what you put on your skin. It is a good idea to test any acne face mask ingredients on a small area of skin to check that your acne is inflamed by any of the ingredients.
